• Analyze specifications, quality, quantity, and delivery requirement for assigned product categories; determine best supply source; survey markets for new supply sources.
• Identify and develop relationships with vendors for optimal pricing, quality, timing, and supply availability.
• Prepare purchase orders or bid requests for suppliers.
• Review and check material requisitions, purchase orders, vendor invoices, receiving slips, etc. to ensure accuracy.
• Allocate inventory for projects efficiently and communicate information regarding materials to the Team.
• Monitor estimated delivery dates from suppliers for open purchase orders and communicate lead times with the Team.
• Verify receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolve shipment errors with suppliers and/or carriers.
• Ensure incoming inspections are carried out on all items.
• Responsible for maintaining inventory levels including expirations, proper storage, usage, and documentation.
• Prepare procurement and inventory reports as needed, as well as oversee shipping and receiving processes.
