Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Sourcing alongside two Strategic Sourcing Specialists, this role offers an opportunity for a driven individual with a keen eye for detail and a desire to advance in a dynamic sourcing setting. You'll collaborate closely with the Supply Chain team, as well as departments like Distribution, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, and Manufacturing Operations, to shape sourcing strategies, negotiate with key suppliers, and procure essential commodities. Additionally, you'll play a pivotal role in product development and value analysis/engineering efforts, facilitating the creation and implementation of category and sourcing strategies aligned with overarching business objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Restructuring and enhancing supply chain operations.
- Identifying, selecting, vetting, and cultivating strategic alliances with suppliers in line with both internal and external customer requirements and strategic vision.
- Assessing suppliers' capabilities across various dimensions including quality, technology, service, cost-effectiveness, capacity, financial stability, adaptability, and dedication.
- Negotiating optimal pricing and terms while establishing clear expectations during partner on boarding.
- Executing comprehensive master purchase agreements.
- Formulating sourcing strategies and broader supply chain blueprints within specific categories. Leading sourcing projects as the project head, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project roll out.
- Engaging early in product development initiatives, coordinating with Engineering, Marketing, Manufacturing, Finance, and Sales to advocate for the sourcing function and ensure timely material procurement.
- Maintaining close collaboration with the procurement team (Buyer/Planners, Purchasing Manager) to provide pertinent information on cost, sourcing details, lead times, and other relevant factors for the production environment.
- Partnering with Supplier Development and Supplier Quality Engineering to uphold supplier performance standards and meet DDPM (Delivery, Development, Performance, and Management) objectives through effective sourcing strategies.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Supplier Development, and Supplier Quality Engineering to oversee and enhance supplier performance metrics such as cost, quality, delivery, and customer service.
- Partner with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, Customers, and Suppliers to drive identified Value Engineering initiatives.
- Spearhead and advocate for intricate make versus buy projects, leveraging a strategic approach.
- Assist the VA/VE leader by taking ownership of and resolving more intricate technical VA/VE projects.
- Lead initiatives aimed at advancing the digitization of the supply chain.
Requirements:
- BS degree in Engineering is required; Nevertheless, for candidates possessing a 4-year degree in supply chain or a related field, coupled with an engineering-oriented mindset and a proven track record of effectively tackling intricate challenges, exceptions may be considered.
