Job Title: Senior Specialist in Foreign Trade Law Compliance

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Specialist in Foreign Trade Law Compliance to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of international trade laws, regulations, and compliance standards, particularly within the chemical industry. This role is crucial for ensuring that our operations comply with all applicable trade laws and regulations, mitigating risks, and facilitating smooth international transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures to ensure compliance with international trade laws and regulations.
- Monitor and interpret changes in trade regulations and provide guidance to internal stakeholders on their impact.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and audits of trade compliance activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including legal, logistics, procurement, and sales to ensure alignment with trade compliance requirements.
- Prepare and submit necessary documentation for export/import activities, including licenses, permits, and declarations.
- Provide training and support to staff on trade compliance matters.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and external consultants as needed.
- Investigate and resolve any compliance issues or violations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Law, International Business, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification in trade compliance is preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in foreign trade law compliance, preferably within the chemical industry.
- In-depth knowledge of EU and international trade laws, export control regulations, and customs procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in German and English is required; additional languages are a plus.
- Experience with trade compliance software and tools is an advantage.
