Qualifications
- A customer-focused and solution-driven approach
- Strong grasp of logistics and an understanding of customer needs
- Knowledge of various transportation methods, warehouse requirements, and incoterms
- Ability to engage and collaborate effectively with customers and vendors while maintaining high integrity
- Experience in mentoring and enhancing the sales skills of a team
- Over 5 years of experience in sales within transportation, forwarding, or warehousing industries
- Proven management experience
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
- Good understanding of Dutch
Job Description
- Identify and attract new customers for domestic transportation services to meet income targets
- Provide rate quotes for transportation inquiries from customers and freight forwarders
- Lead and manage a team of sales executives focused on road freight, transportation, warehousing, and freight forwarding
- Schedule and conduct weekly meetings with the sales team
- Obtain competitive rates from various suppliers, including hauliers, co-loaders, and transportation companies
- Respond to new shipment or storage inquiries from current customers and freight forwarders
- Follow up on offers sent to customers
- Maintain accurate customer and inquiry data in the CRM system
- Arrange supplier visits to improve the company's cost-efficiency
- Conduct visits to potential new customers
- Perform trend analysis and market research to identify and develop target customers and markets
- Develop and implement sales strategies on a weekly, monthly, and yearly basis
- Ensure a smooth handover of secured business to the Operations team with all necessary details
- Prepare sales reports and participate in company-scheduled meetings and social activities
- Commit to operating in accordance with the Safety, Health & Environmental program
- Plan and strive to achieve annual budget targets
