Position Summary: A global supplier of yeast-based specialty ingredients is seeking a Process Engineer for it's Boyceville, Wisconsin location. The role focuses on supporting the production of existing and new products, requiring expertise in fermentation, extraction, process optimization, and innovation.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead continuous improvement efforts using statistical analysis and Lean concepts to enhance production rates, optimize processes, reduce costs, and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
- Maintain and develop process control variables, troubleshoot issues, track performance data, and drive improvements in key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Build and maintain a comprehensive database of raw materials, products, and their properties, while supporting toll manufacturing activities
- Collaborate with the team and customers to create new ingredients based on market demands, focusing on sustainability, energy savings, and process optimization
- Develop and manage the mass and energy balance for the extract and fermentation process, providing technical expertise in these areas
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in chemical, bioprocessing/bioproducts, food engineering, or related area
- Experience with enzyme, protein isolation, centrifugation, and mixing processes is a plus
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
