Electrical Automation Controls Engineer
Are you a driven and experienced Electrical Controls Engineer eager to make a difference in a leading chemical manufacturing plant? Join a dynamic team and play pivotal role in enhancing efficiency and productivity through Total Production Management (TPM) strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engineering and technical support for manufacturing and maintenance operations
- Troubleshooting, rebuilding, and repairing electrical equipment and automated systems
- Continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and equipment reliability
- Implementing PLC programming for optimized production and energy savings
- Managing network and server standard work and documentation
- Facilitating collaboration across departments for project success
- Participating in LEAN-driven production process improvements
- Developing and implementing PLC logic programming and HMI interfaces
- Designing machine and gauge control systems, automation, and data collection solutions
- Training reliability technicians and developing standard operating procedures
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or similar field
- 3+ years in industrial maintenance and PLC/HMI troubleshooting and programming
- US Citizen or Green Card Holder with ability to relocate to the Greater Chicago area
Preferred Skills:
- VMWare ESXi and virtualized environments knowledge
- Experience with Veritas, Veeam or similar disaster recovery software
- Familiarity with networking, SQL database maintenance, and Rockwell Automation PLC
- FactoryTalk & AssetCentre, Wonderware, Networking, and Stratus server experience
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities in fast-paced environments
- Knowledge of ARC Flash safety requirements and NFPA 70E
- Plant maintenance vocational training or equivalent job experience
- Adaptability, advanced electronics, and basic computer literacy
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in challenging situations
