Job Title: Principle Power Electronics Engineer
Job Location: Johnson County, KS (on-site)
What You Will Do
- Design power conversion circuitry potentially utilizing any standard power conversion topology (non-isolated and isolated).
- Utilize power conversion simulation programs like SIMPLIS, Saber or SPICE to model converter design performance.
- Utilize analysis tools like MathCAD or MATLAB to assess electrical design robustness of power circuitry.
- Guide Electronic Computer-Aided Design (ECAD) personnel through layout of power circuitry and technical drawing creation.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant Engineering field, BSEE preferred.
- BS and 10 years of experience or MS and 6 years of experience or PhD and 4 years of experience
Must Haves:
- Professional design, analysis, and test experience with linear converters, and numerous isolated and non-isolated switching power supply topologies
- Professional experience using SPICE and other circuit simulation tools
- Professional experience with analysis tools such as Mathcad
- Professional experience with guiding ECAD folks through layout (power focus)
- Able to design to meet concerns of adjacent disciplines, such as thermal, structural, mechanical, reliability, and quality
- Professional experience with taking, analyzing, and correcting Bode plots
- Performing circuit card assembly-level power architecture trades, including power converter specification development experience
- Design experience with voltages > 400V and/or power > 10kW
