Position Overview:
The Operations Manager, a full-time salaried role, oversees all aspects of food production and packaging operations at a company. This position encompasses responsibilities in data entry, planning, production, packaging, quality control, and employee safety. The Operations Manager provides overall supervision to employees in data entry, planning, and production roles.
Workplace Safety:
- Completes safety system documentation and ensures adherence to program standards, reporting any deviations to the Supervisor.
- Participates in mandatory safety training and follows all safety policies.
- Promptly reports all safety issues, near misses, and injuries.
Quality & Food Safety:
- Maintains documentation for quality and food safety systems, ensuring compliance with program standards and reporting any deviations to the Supervisor.
- Participates in mandatory food safety and quality training programs.
- Upholds the integrity of the food safety and quality system through policy adherence and takes corrective actions for deficiencies.
- Reports food safety and quality system failures and takes necessary steps to uphold the system.
Requirements:
Education and Qualifications:
- Requires an Associate's degree or equivalent manufacturing experience.
- Minimum of 8 years in direct management and supervision within a manufacturing plant.
- Experience in the food industry is required
Leadership Skills:
- Demonstrates strong leadership to motivate and manage plant operations effectively.
- Possesses excellent organizational skills.
- Understands business finances, budgets, and contracts.
- Communicates effectively and excels in supervision.
- Proficient in computer skills and plant floor control systems.
Additional Skills:
- Able to interpret safety, operating, and maintenance instructions, and write routine reports.
- Proficient in mathematical calculations and data interpretation.
- Skilled in problem-solving and handling various situations effectively.
Physical Demands & Environment:
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Required to move around the facility, including sitting, standing, bending, and reaching.
- Works in conditions with noise, dust, odors, fumes, oils, mechanical parts, humidity, airborne particles, extreme heat or cold, elevation, and outdoor weather conditions.
