Overview
A global, market leading freight forwarder is looking for a new operations manager responsible for its Zurich head office and overseeing 10 additional branches across Switzerland. This company specializes in a niche aspect of the logistics industry, transporting essential products. The ideal candidate will have experience in transportation and logistics, in particular, road freight. In addition, the candidate must be comfortable leading operations of 400 FTs, with a hands-on mentality.
Responsibilities:
- Operational management as well as management of the directly subordinate Regional Operation Managers
- Manage 10 sites across Switzerland
- Control and optimization in relation to service delivery by means of KPIs
- Ensuring the smooth logistics operation of all sites in Switzerland
- Implement, manage, and review productivity improvement programs.
- Evaluation and market analysis of new operating equipment in cooperation with internal and
- external specialists
- Process improvements in transport and processing
- Cost-optimized deployment of employees and infrastructure, including security vehicles
- Permanent development and expansion of existing services
- Quality assurance and improvement measures
- Participation in the development and implementation of the company strategy
- Budget, planning and reporting (financial and operational indicators)
- Collaboration in projects
Requirements:
- Completed technical/commercial training
- Experience in logistics
- Analytical, structured thinking, and ability to set priorities correctly in a dynamic environment
- Commitment, organizational skills as well as distinctive, coordinative, and planning abilities
- German, proficient in French and English
