What You'll Do
* Develop sourcing and negotiations/contracting strategies that deliver against commodity business objectives
* Own and manage end to end procurement activities of Indirect Capex categories, including: Analyze current state and spend, purchasing trends and evaluate current supply base; Build technical knowledge of category specific landscape, market trends and supply base; Own RFIs, RFPs & RFQ's - ensuring all commercial terms are agreed and documented; Validate, analyze, and make sourcing recommendations based on proposals from suppliers; Fully support aggressive program and project timeline; Negotiate pricing & commercial terms and issue POs for Indirect CAPEX and associated support services; Ensure Non-Disclosure Agreements, General Terms & Conditions, and other related contracts are negotiated and appropriately before business is initiated
* Support organizational cost management objectives by identifying and driving commercial cost reduction opportunities
* Address all areas of category management including category business plans, market conditions, technology roadmaps, cost modeling, and sourcing strategies
* Monitor global industry trends, track technology roadmaps, and actively partner with Tesla teams and suppliers identify/mitigate supply and demand challenges
* Manage respective supplier relationships and performance, including but not limited to dispute resolution, service escalations, and periodic business reviews
* Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams and influence timely decisions with key stakeholders to support category business plans and supplier strategy
What You'll Bring
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience
* At least 5+ years of experience in Procurement (preferably for capital equipment), or Supply Chain/Operations Consulting
* Understanding of contract fundamentals and negotiations
* Experience developing "should-cost" estimates and analyzing supplier quotes
* Demonstrated experience achieving and exceeding cost-reduction objectives
* Excellent Excel and other MS Office skills required; Experience with ERP or MRP purchasing systems is preferred
* Excellent negotiation, written and verbal skills; Organizational skills to manage competing priorities
