An up and coming company within the food and beverage industry is looking to add more leadership to their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, logistics, and procurement, with a preference for candidates with food manufacturing experience.
Resource Management: Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain the necessary resources for an efficient supply chain.
Inventory Management: Ensure the optimal quantity of supplies and materials are on hand to optimize production. Develop and maintain detailed inventories across all company sites and factories.
Process Improvement: Analyze current inventories and procedures and suggest improvements to enhance supply chain efficiency and company profitability.
Procurement: Negotiate prices for raw materials and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and shipping companies. Handle purchasing of equipment to meet performance, safety, reliability, and cost requirements.
Transportation Optimization: Identify optimal shipment and transportation routes, with a focus on warehousing and distribution consolidation. Oversee the shipment of materials, both domestic and international.
Logistics Management: Manage logistics and warehouse processes and procedures to ensure high performance and customer satisfaction. Improve customer performance efficiencies.
Scheduling: Schedule all logistical and transportation needs in a timely manner to ensure smooth operations.
Compliance: Ensure that all supply chain processes and procedures are followed and maintained to provide a positive performance outcome.
Other Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing supply chain, logistics, and transportation.
Food Manufacturing Experience: Preferred experience in food manufacturing.
Vendor Negotiation: Proven experience in buying ingredients and negotiating with vendors, especially in the context of food production.
Packaging Expertise: Familiarity with packaging and packaging suppliers.
Transportation and Logistics: Ability to schedule and work with transportation and logistics companies, with experience in FTL, LTL, and parcel logistics.
Equipment Procurement: Understanding of food manufacturing equipment and experience in assisting with equipment procurement.
