I am working with a global leading chemicals company as they grow and mature their supply chain processes. You will assume a pivotal role in designing and executing the strategic supply chain operations and be instrumental in synchronising the demand and supply aspects. As a Supply Chain Manager, you will collaborate closely with various cross-functional teams, including procurement, production, logistics, and sales. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure optimal inventory levels, timely delivery, and overall supply chain efficiency.
This role requires the candidate to be on site in Dortmund.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with business goals, focusing on inventory optimisation and demand fulfilment.
- Lead and mentor a team of supply planners, fostering a culture of collaboration and achievement.
- Utilise advanced forecasting techniques to anticipate market trends and drive effective demand planning.
- Analyse inventory data to identify opportunities for cost-efficient inventory management.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to manage supplier relationships, contract negotiations, and material availability.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline supply chain processes and reduce lead times.
- Coordinate with production teams to align manufacturing schedules with demand forecasts.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure supply chain performance and present findings to senior management.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and supply chain best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 5 years of demonstrated supply chain planning experience, emphasising supply planning and demand forecasting
- Proficiency in supply chain planning software and advanced Excel skills for data analysis.
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with a successful track record of team management.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a history of implementing process improvements.
- Solid understanding of procurement, production, and logistics within the [industry/sector].
- Effective communication skills for interdepartmental collaboration and senior leadership reporting.
