We are currently working with a leading company in the chemicals industry who are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supply Chain Director to oversee and optimize their end-to-end supply chain operations.
As the Supply Chain Director, you will play a critical role in driving efficiency, enhancing productivity, and ensuring seamless coordination across various departments involved in the supply chain process. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to maximize cost-effectiveness, minimize lead times, and improve overall customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute the company's overall supply chain strategy in alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Process Optimization: Continuously review and optimize supply chain processes, including demand planning, procurement, inventory management, logistics, and distribution.
- Supplier Management: Oversee supplier selection, negotiation, and performance evaluation processes. Foster strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure timely and reliable delivery of goods and services.
- Inventory Control: Develop inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels, reduce carrying costs, and prevent stockouts or excesses. Implement demand forecasting models and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve optimal inventory turnover and product availability.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including sales, marketing, production, and finance, to align supply chain activities with overall business objectives. Foster effective communication and coordination to facilitate efficient order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
- Performance Measurement: Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess supply chain performance. Regularly analyze data and generate reports to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement. Present findings to senior management and make data-driven recommendations.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressively responsible experience in supply chain management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the and experience in the chemicals industry
- Strategic Thinking: Proven track record of developing and executing strategic initiatives that drive operational excellence and deliver measurable results. Ability to anticipate future trends and challenges and proactively develop innovative solutions.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams. Strong decision-making, negotiation, and conflict resolution capabilities. Experience in managing and developing a high-performing supply chain team.
- Proficiency in SCM platforms and tools.
- Fluency in English and Dutch (both written and verbal).
