Strategic Sourcing Manager - Pharmaceutical Industry

Our client, a large international biopharmaceutical organization, is looking for an enthusiastic, passionate procurement individual to join their global sourcing organization in the Los Angeles area. Upon start date, this role will be remote for 3 days out of the week, and onsite 2 days per week.
The Strategic Sourcing Manager - Pharmaceutical Industry is a senior position within the directs sourcing procurement group that will be responsible for establishing the category strategy for direct and raw materials/commodities. This role reports into the Global Supply Chain Director. Our client is open to a wide variety of commodity experience, but is looking for a strategic sourcing individual with 3-5 years of sourcing experience within the biotech/pharma industries.
The Strategic Sourcing Manager - Pharmaceutical Industry will be responsible for:
- Driving supplier performance, contract effectiveness, collaboration and integration and deliver improved results with key suppliers within the assigned commodities
- Developing and implementing approved strategies that actively search for performance improvement and cost reduction opportunities by understanding stakeholder needs, supply market trends and innovation
- Conducting detailed demand, spend, cost and market analysis and a structured approach to tendering and negotiating with suppliers
- Developing presentation materials, leads & facilitates key meetings with senior leaders and leverages strong communication skills to achieve desired outcomes
- Forecast needs and price trends that will impact supply
The Strategic Sourcing Manager - Pharmaceutical Industry has the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering (required)
- 3-5 years of relevant experience within procurement
- 2+ years of biotech or pharma industry experience
- 2+ years of experience within R&D or clinical labs sourcing
- APICS certification highly preferred
