Strategic Buyer Electronics - Berlin
A global market leader in the manufacturing and installation of elevators are currently hiring for a Strategic Buyer in Electronics to join their team in Berlin.
They're seeking a procurement professionals with experience in purchasing electronic components such as metal control cabinets, grounding rails, electrical/cabling accessories) for the construction of control cabinets and printed circuit boards (PCBA), semiconductors etc.
Responsibilities:
- You participate together with the internal stakeholders (e.g. global and regional supply chain management, quality management and engineering) in the development of category strategies and drive strategy changes.
- You carry out international market analysis and open up new sources of supply for mechanical and electronic components (e.g. metal control cabinets, grounding rails, electrical/cabling accessories) for the construction of control cabinets and printed circuit boards (PCBA).
- They also identify alternative suppliers and possible replacement products in the event of supply bottlenecks.
- Conduct tenders and independently negotiate commercial terms.
- You will also analyse and evaluate material costs and identify potential cost reductions.
- You drive strategic supplier management and risk management for top suppliers.
- You coordinate requirements, quantity forecasts and, if necessary, technical details with various internal departments.
- In addition, you create overviews of the material intake on various components for weekly reports to management and actively participate in solving supply bottlenecks.
- You work with us in the continuous further development of the purchasing processes and ensure compliance with the defined processes.
Requirements:
- You have completed commercial training or a degree in business administration or engineering.
- You have several years of experience in electronic materials procurement, ideally in a matrix organisation.
- You inspire with your very good presentation and communication skills, as well as intercultural skills.
- You are characterised by an independent and self-motivated way of working and are not afraid to solve challenges.
- You have good written and spoken English skills.
- You are well versed in dealing with ERP systems (SAP, BaaN or similar).
