A leading medical device organization is looking for an Senior Procurement Manager - Indirect Procurement to oversee the gammit of sourcing acitivites across the indirect categories. This role will report into the VP of Global Sourcing directly and will be developing the categories strategies for the US.
The Senior Procurement Manager - Indirect Procurement is a newly created position within the business, and will be overseeing all of the indirect spend for the global business, which amounts to a spend of $450M USD. The ideal candidate has a passionate for creating strategic processes, has an out of the box thinking mentality, and is excited to be a part of a organization achieving organic and acquisition growth.
The Indirect Procurement - Strategic Sourcing Leader will:
- Establish effective supply chain contract and sourcing management processes, while appropriately challenging third party spend arrangements and contracts
- Collaborate with the Global Center of Excellence (COE) Group on all methodologies, procedures, and processes
- Develop and implement approved strategies for assigned commodities that actively search for performance improvement and cost reduction opportunities by understanding customer needs, supply market trends and innovation
- Conduct detailed demand, spend, cost and market analysis and a structured approach to tendering and negotiating with suppliers
- Develop and maintain vendor relationships including tracking and analysis of vendor spend and performance
- Conduct risk analysis and identify underlying reasons or facts and develop mitigation plans, including supplier diversity plans
- Lead and mentor a team of 4-5 buyers that will support the indirect categories
The Indirect Procurement - Strategic Sourcing Leader has the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering
- 10+ years of experience with professional services/indirect procurement
- Expert category strategy, strategic sourcing, supplier management, spend analysis, and contract negotiation skills
- Experience building out procurement processes and category strategies
- Ideal industry experience includes: medical device
