DSJ Global is currently partnered with a cutting-edge robotics company seeking an experienced Director of Manufacturing. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team revolutionizing the medical device industry. The Director of Manufacturing leader is responsible for executing the company's strategic goals, identifying, and solving complex problems and providing support and clear accountability to the Operations team and stakeholders. The Director will also be responsible for aligning with senior leadership and other key stakeholders to develop and implement performance improvement recommendations. The scope of the position is focused on Production, New Product Introduction, Continuous improvement, Strategic sourcing and Manufacturing Engineering of the company's product portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Utilizes broad and deep Operational Excellence, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Global Supply Chain knowledge to implement industry accepted business practices, policies and procedures
- Partners with R&D to transfer new products and processes to manufacturing that are stable and capable of meeting standards for product quality and cost effectiveness.
- Ensures the factory layout and equipment are optimized for material flow and manufacturing efficiency
- Identify new and improve existing supplier relationships
- Work cross-functionally with Quality Director to ensure supplier and internal products meet design specifications
- Owns and drives cross-functional team projects for quality compliance, continuous improvements, outsourcing, etc. and presents updates to executive staff
- Establishes meaningful performance metrics and measures progress against established standards
- Initiates, drives, and participates in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement activity
- Oversees Departmental Budgets and expenditures
- Oversees manufacturing builds to ensure product quality & optimal resource utilization
Required Experience
- Bachelor's Degree (Engineering field of study is highly preferred)
- Extensive New Product Introduction experience - preferably with Electromechanical Robotic Systems
- Experience in the Robotics industry
- New Product launch experience, Validation, and Tooling
- Lean Manufacturing and plant design/layout optimization experience
- PFMEA
- Control Plans
- DFM and DSF
