Title: Senior Director, Manufacturing Operations
Location: Greater Wilmington Area
A multi-billion-dollar leader within medical instrument manufacturing is seeking out a Senior Director of Manufacturing Operations to join their team and be a critical part of the strategic business decisions. The Senior Director will be accountable for establishing a compelling vision and strategy to achieve strategic and financial objectives that align with the business, motivating a widely diverse team to achieve goals and objectives in all areas of the business, and planning, administering, and directing all activities of Global Manufacturing Operations, including all management and employees personally or indirectly through subordinate supervisors.
The Senior Director of Manufacturing Operations will have the following responsibilities:
- Providing strategic and operational leadership to Global Manufacturing Operations. This involves supply chain optimization including strategic sourcing as well as production, engineering, logistics, planning, shipping, supply & demand management, inventory management, and continuous improvement of all processes using accurate forecasting tools, innovative techniques, analytics and industry best practices to maximize productivity and quality while reducing overall operating costs
- Maximizing production efficiency and effectiveness (time to delivery) through the continuous improvement of processes through standardized workflows while minimizing non-standard "fire-fighting" activities
- Optimization of operational site strategy including manufacturing as well as distribution center locations, space utilization, manpower coverage, etc. as part of overall center of excellence design for global manufacturing and product delivery to customers
- Developing and implementing methods and procedures for monitoring projects, such as preparation of records of expenditures and findings, progress reports, and staff conferences, in order to inform management of current status of each project
- Providing functional expertise as it relates to M&A analysis, decision making, due diligence, planning and implementation of acquired companies
- Participating actively in the Business Committee by providing time, resources, solutions, suggestions, and expert advice to achieve the best overall success possible for the entire organization
- Building high performing, focused teams of managers and employees in the functional area(s) of responsibility capable of consistently achieving department targets
- Managing and recommending allocation and integration of department resources to meet commitments and objectives; submits and administers operational budgets and schedules
The ideal Senior Director of Manufacturing Operations must have the following qualifications:
- Must have minimum of a four-year Bachelors Degree in Operations Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or any relevant field
- Must have at least 10+ years of electrical/electronic Manufacturing Management experience
- Demonstrated managerial and leadership skills including experience managing subordinate managers and organizations within multiple locations
- Ability to achieve positive results for the company while maintaining cost effective P&L responsibilities
