I am working with a leading chemical manufacturing company that operates across multiple regions. The Regional Logistics Manager will be responsible for managing the logistics operations in Belgium and the surrounding regions. The role requires an individual who has strong leadership skills, can manage a team, and has a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- * Oversee and manage transportation carriers for air, sea, barge, rail, and road freight forwarding
- * Handling escalated service issues and collaborating with the transportation booking team at delivery centres to ensure on-time delivery for customers
- * Optimises service selection for efficiency and ensures that the quality of service is maintained
- * Manage the logistics operations in Belgium and the surrounding regions, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management
- * Develop and implement logistics strategies that support the company's objectives
- * Managing escalations and long term plans for the region and wider company
- * Monitor and report on logistics performance, including KPIs and metrics
- * Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and legislation
- * Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and other departments within the company
- * Interacting with compliance and forwarders, managing shipments and documentation
- * Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce costs
- * Ensuring that costs align with negotiated contracts across transportation and warehouse operations in the region
Qualifications and Experience:
- * Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- * At least 7 years of experience in logistics operations management, preferably in the chemical or manufacturing industry * Strong leadership skills and experience managing a team
- * Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- * Demonstrated ability to develop and implement logistics strategies
- * In-depth knowledge of logistics regulations and legislation
- * Experience with transportation, warehousing, and inventory management
- * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
