Job Title: Project Buyer

My client are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Project Buyer to join their team in Solothurn, Switzerland. They are looking for a candidate that has technical procurement experience, purchasing direct materials. My client is a leading company in the Heavy Industrial sector, and the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement of materials and services for various projects. As this is a new position, there will be a lot of opportunity to create processes and a lot of communication with senior stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for assigned projects
- Source, evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost and delivery performance
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of materials and services
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project requirements are met
- Monitor and report on procurement activities and performance metrics
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness of procurement activities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the Automotive or Heavy Industrial sector
- Experience procuring direct materials and ideally and technical background
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Fluent in English and German
