About the Role
The ideal Operations Manager at a leading Chemical Firm will successfully lead the day-to-day operations of a Global company at their Indianapolis branch. As an Operations Manager, you will work on developing and overseeing the manufacturing processes, overseeing process improvement of the branch, and manage the key regulations involved within Chemical Manufacturing.
Operations Manager Essential Functions:
- Direct a team of Supervisors
- Manage the daily safe, efficient, legal, and economic operations of the branch
- Facilitate compliance of government and safety regulations related to Chemicals
- Conduct safety audits in conjunction with the Branch Operations Supervisors or Regulatory Manager
- Maintain supervisory presence throughout the branch and create a positive environment for the work environment
- Lead interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluating of Supervisors while ensuring the same is conducted for the branch employees
- Manage budget and operating plan to achieve branch goals
- Ensure company wide quality processes are adhered to in the facility
- Implement Continuous Improvement initiatives to improve operations
Operations Manager Role Requirements
- Locally based in/near Indianapolis
- High School Diploma/ GED required. Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
- 5+ years' experience in operations
- 2+ years leadership or management experience
- Working knowledge of chemical operations or experience managing hazardous products REQUIRED (oil/petroleum, paint, pesticide/fertilizer manufacturing, soap/cleaning manufacturing, pharmaceutical production etc.)
- Familiarity or strong willingness to learn governmental regulations related to the chemical industry (OSHA, EPA, RCRA, DOT, etc.)
