Materials Manager

Our rail haulage industry client is looking to bring on a Materials Manager who will be responsible for implementing brand new plant processes to better track purchases, customer demands, and to make the supply chain more efficient. This role will be reporting into the Plant Manager.
The ideal candidate will understand Lean Manufacturing processes with Six Sigma certification - Green Belt. They also will need to be passionate about leading a team, generating new ideas to take on challenges, and comfortable building a new system of processes from the ground up.
Materials Manager Responsibilities:
- Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy
- Schedule material demands into MRP system to support production schedule
- Manage and monitor inventory levels and control systems to meet defined metrics
- Identify and develop strategic suppliers / partnerships to support business goal
- Interface with Program Managers to drive workflow that meets customer demands
Materials Manager Requirements:
- BS Required. Engineer, Business, and Supply Chain
- 7+ years of material management, 3+ years of leadership
- Negotiation skills and accuracy of BOM
- Strong understanding of lean warehouse management and delivery of materials to the floor
