Job Duties
- Conduct research to find new suppliers outside of the China & India regions,
- Benchmark Global retailers & brands to uncover sources of supply
- Identify potential markets based on category specialisation
- Liaise with Trade Associations / Country Trade Offices & Commissions to understand opportunities and leverage support for business
- Attend key Trade fairs
- Be an ambassador for business and sell the opportunity to suppliers
- Evaluate potential markets to understand cost of supply and liaise with International supply Chain team on route optimisation
- Evaluate potential supplier against key business ethical and QA standards
- Ensure potential supplier is aware of business supply chain & financial requirements
- Liaise with Sourcing team to handover full details as "hot prospect"
- Liaise with Sourcing team, capture data & update new supplier journey in Central Diversification documents (unknown to known to proposed to accepted)
- Summarise progress data metrics for monthly sprint and as required in ad-hoc reports
- Ensure research delivers against diversification road map prioirities & annual targets
- Maximise diversification benefit of each new market and supplier
- Capture feedback from Sourcing & Merch on new supplier success/fail to ensure research team is meeting customer needs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 5 years of experience in business consulting or a marketing analytical field
- Experience in database and reporting tools across standard relational environments
- Experience in developing, delivering, and reporting analysis in a demanding business environment
- Ability to take on multiple projects, lead, and drive operational and strategic initiatives
- Ability to convert the merits of data and reports internally and externally
- Ability to communicate with a highly technical management team
- Ability to work across global cross-functional project teams in structuring and executing analysis
- Distinctive problem-solving and analytical skills
