A globally recognised player in the construction machinery industry is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Global Category Manager within the Hydraulics commodity. The company has earned its reputation as a trailblazer in the realm of mortar and concrete pumps, however the expertise garnered from these primary business sectors has been successfully applied to other areas, including industrial pumps, tunnel technology, and handling systems.
By engaging in the research and production of products designed to streamline and enhance the construction, civil engineering, and building processes, the company has made significant contributions to making construction practices more efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally sustainable.
Responsibilities:
- Formulate, execute, and monitor an all-encompassing global category strategy.
- Evaluate and enact cost-saving measures, giving due consideration to best-cost country sourcing and technical cost reductions.
- Engage in negotiations with international suppliers.
- Carry out risk and market analyses, assessing global supply sources.
- Identify, cultivate, and secure supplementary sources of supply.
- Harmonise and synchronise sourcing activities with the parent company.
Profile of the Candidate:
- Hold a degree in technical or business studies.
- Accumulate 3-5 years of professional experience in procurement within an international industrial company - knowledge in the hydraulics industry is desirable
- Possess proficiency in SAP and Office applications.
- Demonstrate resilience and assertiveness.
- Exhibit consistent commitment to goal pursuit and implementation.
- Showcase strong communication and analytical skills.
- Display a high degree of flexibility and teamwork capability.
- Fluency in both German and English.
