Director of Supply Chain
Location: Remote
Our client, a heavy machinery manufacturer, is looking for a Director of Supply Chain to lead strategic initiatives, provide leadership to the supply chain team, steer the procurement functions (both direct and indirect), effectively manage and mitigate risk, and develop the budget for Opex and Capex.
The ideal candidate will have machinery manufacturing experience, with a preference to international market experience. Additionally, they will have strong contract negotiation skills and experience dealing with long term, multi-year contracts.
Responsibilities:
- To strategically direct, operate and improve the Supply Chain function within the defined strategy, policies and guidelines and to drive shared goals and objectives globally across the entire.
- Meet with relevant departments to obtain required information for all Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) and Production Planning processes, presenting analyzed results to key stakeholders during S&OP and Production Planning meetings.
- In addition to leading a team of buyer and planners, this role will be responsible for inventory management across our 10 facilities and will provide oversight and strategic direction to the company's ERP system.
- Manage outsourced distribution activities and maintain strong relationships with 3PLs, CMOs, freight forwarders and transportation partners.
- Develops domestic and international sources to ensure a robust and reliable supplier base to include a strategic group of suppliers that the company can partner with.
- Lead and manage all procurement and materials management activities including order placement, supplier evaluation/certification/reduction, price negotiation, and compliance activities.
- Develop and implement lean continuous improvement plans that drive high sales volume.
- Develop a core understanding of the business cost drivers and their impact on operations, customers and competitors.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 6 years of experience Supply Chain Leadership experience
- Bachelors Degree required - Business Administration, Accounting, Supply Chain or other relevant fields
- Masters Degree preferred
- Minimum 4 years experience in heavy manufacturing industry
- Global sourcing and negotiation experience
