I am currently working with a market leading marine logistics company that is searching for a category manager to join their procurement team based in Marseille, France. My client provides offshore subsea marine services for some of the largest energy producers in the oil, gas and wind sector globally.
Responsibilities
- Within the Procurement team, you will be in charge of defining and implementing the Group Purchasing strategy for the Engines & propulsion systems categories. As such, your main tasks will be:
- Management and optimisation of the volume of purchases on these categories, at the global level
- Sourcing of new suppliers
- Conducting high-stakes consultations, negotiation and contracting with selected suppliers
- Management of the supplier relationship, in particular by organising Business Reviews with strategic suppliers and setting up framework contracts
- Rationalisation of the panel of international suppliers
- Development and implementation of savings plans
- Development and management of a solid relationship with internal BOURBON business partners (Technical, Supply Chain, Finance, Ship managers, etc.)
- Structuring and development of supplier performance using continuous improvement action plans, on-site audits, etc.
- Monitoring and measurement of purchasing value creation
- Regular communication and reporting on the achievements made
Requirements:
- Qualifications/Experience:
- Diploma from an engineering or business school (Bac+5) or equivalent
- 7-10 years of experience in International Purchasing, and on similar categories (Purchasing of high-tech systems)
- International experience in defining and implementing category purchasing strategies at a global level
