This family style company is currently looking for a Safety and Health Manager in their California location! You will have oversight of four locations.
Responsibilities Include
- Understand safety and health regulations including OSHA, DOT, etc.
- Liaise with Federal/State/County regulatory agencies when needed
- Assist in the development of new company injury and illness prevention programs
- Work with plant and transportation management and front line employees to develop strategies to sustain current injury and illness programs
- Coordinate safety training program over four sites
- Orchestrate dairy assessment program through on-site assessments, hazard identification, and corrective action
- Assign risk assessment codes to all identified hazards and oversee corrective action completion
- Travel between Region locations on a routine basis
- Regularly communicate and meet with corporate, regional, plant and transportation management
- Teach safety program concepts and elements to all leadership levels
Requirements
- 8+ years experience with Safety and Health program management in a manufacturing environment
- 3 years in a Manager role with demonstrated leadership experience
- Agriculture based experience preferred
- College degree preferred
- Ability to travel overnight
- Ability to work in high noise environments
- Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
