- Salary range: $140,000-$160,000 and 20%+ bonus
A global, privately owned pharmaceutical manufacturer is looking to add an Associate Director of Procurement to their Operations team in the Morristown, NJ office. This company's mission is to manufacture affordable, high quality generic medicines to improve lives to those who could otherwise not afford them.
This Associate Director of Procurement will have the opportunity to build their own team as it is a lean organization that experiences organic growth. This position reports directly into the VP of Third Party Operations which allows for increased visibility and minimal overhead for decision making. They are looking for a true "up and comer" with great people skills and high energy to match their culture.
The Associate Director of Procurement will have the following responsibilities:
- Work closely with the finance team on establishing and maintaining a Spending Taxonomy
- Develop and implement robust sourcing strategies that reflect core KPIs by leveraging marketplace and supplier relationships
- Evaluate and monitor risk of the supply base and work to diversify it to mitigate risks and improve process
- Negotiate contract terms and conditions with internal and external stakeholders, specifically legal and finance. Deeply analyze supplier proposals and payment schedules and engage in pricing negations with suppliers
- Maintain a Risk Assessment tool for all direct procurement materials and finished goods to ensure a smooth flow of supply
- Manage Purchase Orders
The ideal candidate will have the following skill set:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 7+ years of procurement/buying/sourcing experience and 3+ years of experience within a Life Sciences industry
- Strong relationship management, team management, and communication
- Experience using an ERP system
